Sa Bom Nim Johns with Founder Hwang Kee and our current Grandmaster, H.C. Hwang

Our school and instructors receive guidance and oversight from Sa Bom Nim William Johns, Jr., who began his martial arts training at the age of 7. His first instructor was his father, William Johns, Sr. In 1974, William Johns Jr. began training in Tang Soo Do (the original name for our art in this country) under Harry Rowe Jr.  He received his first degree black belt just before moving to Melbourne, Florida to attend college at Florida Tech were he began teaching. After his 2nd degree dan test William Johns became a student of Master H. C. Hwang, then Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee and the son of our Founder. Master Johns is currently a 6th degree dan. For ten years Sa Bom Nim Johns attended the annual Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa, an eight day residential program where he helped to train and test the masters of our art. He has competed and coached nationally and internationally.  Click here to email Sa Bom Nim William Johns.
